The post office is now closed, although there is still a PO sign over the door. No explanation, just gone.
I'm upset that I can't award a zero star, as that's what the owners of this establishment deserve. This is our nearest Post Office and over the last two weeks we've used it a few times, but no more. We'd rather travel a few more miles to be treated with the civility and professionallism that, what is effectively, a public service should have. I've never been met with anything approaching a smile, and on the last two occasions I've experienced unhelpfulness and rudeness. FIrstly, I went to post a few items on Saturday, unfortunately being unsure of the last post times, I was at the cut off time but the collection hadn't been made. The postmistress refused to put my post in the collection bag and said they would have to catch the Monday post - as I didn't have any other option (I thought), I left the building only to find the postman collecting mail from the outside postbox - which I could have used if they had suggested. My last episode reflects one of the other reviewers, in that there's a blatant disregard and lack of concern for parking in the crescent. A delivery van for Parcelforce was blocking the entrance to the crescent, so I and many others had to park elsewhere. There was plenty of room for the Parcelforce van to park further on, and when I mentioned this to both of them inside the post office section, it was ' We have to receive deliveries and parking outside's not our responsibility' Before I could reply, I had the 'hand in the face', from the woman owner behind the counter and a blank refusal to engage about the problem. I took my letters with me, and shall now use the Post Office at Flamborough where I'm greeted with a smiling face and that inexpensive quality - civility.You should also smarten yourselves up if you run a public facing business, and attend a customer service course!!
Good value, good overall range for a small shop, convenient opening times and always had great service. Only downside is lack of parking.
Appalling service. Post office never open as advertised and staff are horrible . I have just visited the store tonight to put some money into my account at the post office counter. It was closed and a lady came down from upstairs and got very funny with me for no reason. She refused to give me her name, and I was treated appallingly. I kept calm and have come home to send this review. I hope the licence is taken off them. They have been short staffed for over one year and the post office is advertised as open till 10.pm. But it's always closed. I cannot believe how i was treated. She felt because she owns it she could treat me this way. Her attitude against me was shocking. I work in retail so know what is expected from customer service. I've also been accused of publicising my work place that i dont own, and the Mr who owns the shop said over social media that im putting in small amounts on purpose. ??? Such a bazzar bunch of staff. Keep clear ! ! !
So I'm trying to get a bus on Martongate and see an old lady struggling to drive due to wrong people parking and also blocking pavements. Call your self a community one stop laughing at old people you should be ashamed of yourself, drinking your hot drinks . I'm never going there again ! ! ! The worse staff ever
